ReportSynopsis
Three New York drag queens on their way to Hollywood for a beauty pageant get stranded in a small Midwestern town for the entire weekend when their car breaks down. While waiting for parts for their Cadillac convertible, the flamboyant trio shows the local homophobic rednecks that appearing different doesn't mean they don't have humanity in common.

To add more detail - the first scene is when the characters get stopped by a cop. The cop gropes Vida and tries to coerce her into sex but she fights back and eventually pushes him away, knocking him unconscious. The second scene is when 4 or 5 young men surround Chi Chi menacingly and it looks like they intend to sexually assault her, but they don't because another man steps in and "rescues" her.

It's... Complicated. The film does not involve anyone self-identifying as a trans person, but a main antagonist views trans women, transvestites, drag queens, and the like, as predatory, and makes these views known.

This is also complicated. There are no people identifying as transgender in this film. There is an antagonist who is discriminatory towards trans women, transsexuals, transvestites, drag queens, and the like. He says discriminatory things regarding the main characters, a trio of drag queens, but no transphobic slurs are used against them. Some of the terminology may be viewed as outdated, but no slurs are present in this PG-13 film.

The main characters state that they are "drag queens" and not transgender women, but they spend the entire movie presenting as women and clearly prefer to be seen as women. MOST people they encounter respect this and unquestioningly treat them as women. The main exception is the antagonist cop who insists on calling them men. Also, in a couple of scenes Vida and Noxeema tell Chi-Chi that she's "just a boy in a dress" and hasn't earned the "right" to call herself a drag queen yet.

While the drag queens are not presented as objects of ridicule in themselves, Noxeema and Vida refer to Chi-Chi as a "boy in a dress," claiming that she hasn't earned the title of "drag queen" yet. A homophobic antagonist also refers to the main characters as "boys in dresses."

There's an old woman who is usually nonverbal and a man who stutters, and they are lightly mocked for this by the other townspeople. Both seem to "overcome" their conditions through the main characters' positive influence, which is another trope that is often seen as ableist.

Although we don't know her age, Chi-Chi courts a young man named Bobby Ray who Vida refers to as a child. I assume that Bobby Ray is a teenage minor, and though like I said, we don't know Chi-Chi's age, the actor would have been 31-35 (conflicting reports) at the time of the film's release.
