Austin volunteers to play a female character in a play and asks the girls to loan him a dress, and he seems to be trying to play the character authentically. a few times people refer to him as Austin while he's in costume and he asks them not to. in some ways the scene plays all this very neutrally and in some ways there's an undercurrent of clear discomfort from several characters. I can see this scene being triggering for some viewers and an enjoyable moment of gender expansiveness representation for others.
