Set in the landscape of a rural southern town, "George Washington" is a stunning portrait of how a group of young kids come to grips with a hard world of choices and consequences. During an innocent game in an abandoned amusement park, a member of the group dies. Narrated by one of the children, the film follows the kids as they struggle to balance their own ambitions and relationships against a tragic lie.
This movie contains 1 potentially triggering events.
Some young teenagers are dating each other, and in particular there's a 12 year old girl who talks about "french kissing" a boy (but we don't actually see the kids kissing each other). At one point a boy tells her she's "fast" for dating a boy right after breaking up with another one. The kids are all dating age-appropriately with other kids.
A boy adopts an abandoned dog, but he can't take care of it properly. He feeds it human junk food, leaving it malnourished. Later, his uncle kills the dog.
A kid gets killed from a head injury and we see a good amount of blood. There's also a kid who has a soft skull and is at constant risk of head/brain injury.
This is THE major plot point of the movie, we see the kid get injured, we see him die, we see his body, other characters are traumatized by witnessing it. Definitely avoid if this is a trigger for you.
