Pretty amazing that the third film in a franchise can still feel so exciting, but this one pulls it off extremely well. Absolutely breathless action, with a lot of added suspense, thanks to many bomb-defusing scenes requiring quick-thinking and a delicate touch.
Bruce Willis is great once again as our favorite everyman action hero, John McClane. Samuel L. Jackson is a breath of fresh air, bringing quick-wit and a sharp tongue to new character Zeus Carver, and Jeremy Irons brings gravitas, a knowing smile, and a commanding voice to his role as Simon.
It’s an absolute blast for action fans to watch.
Keep in mind: it’s a very violent film, so those with pinned triggers relating to violence, blood, and death: be heavily warned. Also, pretty loaded with racially-motivated arguments and language, so those who are sensitive to possible hate speech or slurs will want to glance at those respective triggers prior to a viewing.
Special note: If you pinned the triggers involving car crashes or screeching tires and car horns, this will not be an easy watch at all.
Synopsis
New York detective John McClane is back and kicking bad-guy butt in the third installment of this action-packed series, which finds him teaming with civilian Zeus Carver to prevent the loss of innocent lives. McClane thought he'd seen it all, until a genius named Simon engages McClane, his new "partner" -- and his beloved city -- in a deadly game that demands their concentration.
