(SPOILERS) Lloyd's father left his wife and children while Lloyd's mother was terminally ill, and after not contacting his children for decades, he now wants a reconciliation. His wife and Mr Rogers encourage him to forgive and reconcile with his father, and Lloyd eventually does. For some viewers with abusive parents, this message could be triggering.

Jerry, the father of the main character Lloyd, who hasn't contacted his children for many years, is determined to reconcile with Lloyd. Lloyd makes it clear that he doesn't want this, but Jerry hangs around outside Lloyd's apartment for two days, parked on the street outside and sleeping in his car. Lloyd's wife invites Jerry inside without Lloyd's consent and allows him to hold their baby. Lloyd acts extremely distressed when he walks into his house to see him there. The movie basically presents this behaviour as OK and many viewers seem to accept it, so YMMV, but I did find it creepy.
