Sam is implied to be the child of rape, or at least of a relationship that resulted in his mother being unable to care for herself due to trauma. His mother dies when Sam accidently starts a fire while killing a man raping her. Sam mentions he makes a point of killing every rapist he comes across. At one point he finds a group of men trying to rape a girl and kills them. One character tries to use aphrodisiac-laced wine to get a character to sleep with him, but she doesn't touch any food he gives her and gets away without him touching her. One character kisses another while both are drunk, and once sober she tells him not to do that again.

In a dream, a character imagines their bird familiar dead. A background character's familiar is hurt, though it is unclear if the familiar dies. The main characters go hunting at one point, though not much detail is given to the gory bits.

At a point, all the main character's steeds are HEAVILY implied to drown. Detail is not given, only alluding to their useless waterlogged saddles. It is very sad.

The demi-god character is cursed with infinite knowledge and tries to hang himself to escape it. Unfortunately, he was also gifted with immortality, so he is forced to hang forever, which he hates. He really wants to die. He does die by the end of the book, which is framed as a good thing as he is no longer on the brink of madness by his infinite knowledge. So yes, a character does die (off-screen!) to suicide, but it was a death that he wanted and that saved him from a lot of misery.

A character tugs out a lock of his hair at one point, which is described as painful, but I wouldn't really describe it as self-harm.
I don't think it really counts here but at one point a character has to murder his magic clone and it... gets pretty gory...

The main character is an assassin. Every fight he gets in to gets VERY bloody. Its never drawn out for the sake of being drawn out, or gory for shock factor- it's used as simply a part of battle. The worst scene is when the main character is forced to shove his hand into an enemy's intestines to kill him. It is given a gross amount of detail. It's only a few lines, though, so you can skip it. Characters nearly die to gruesome wounds several times, but no main characters die to wounds.

Not really intentional, but the g slur is used to describe a group of nomads with a penchant for theft, who the main characters visit to get the advice of a fortune teller. The main characters do express admiration for the people, and the word isn't used as an insult, but seeing the word thrown around so casually made me uncomfortable.

One of the main characters, in a flashback, is seen telling her husband she's pregnant, before her entire race is murdered. By the time she joins the party, she doesn't have a baby with her, and she isn't currently pregnant, so one can infer something happened to the baby between the flashback and her introduction that killed it. Its unknown at what point the child was killed, so it could count under kid death.

Sam's mother died when he was very young and it was very traumatic. The other characters don't go into much detail on their parents, but it can be inferred that two of the group's members lost their parents to genocide, if they did not die by old age before the story takes place.
[MASSIVE END OF STORY SPOILER] Sam finds out who is father is towards the end of the book, and gets to kill him. It is VERY satisfying, but also rather bloody.

The characters do drink and get drunk on occasion, and one character accidentally drinks a ton of alcohol at once (to the humor of his companions). It is then joked several times that he's an alcoholic, but he isn't really.

There is one implied to be, but he is friendly and his undead-ness is never used for shock or horror
[VERY MINOR END OF BOOK SPOILERS] At the very end of the book, the ghost of a dead demi-god appears to offer wisdom and congratulations to the protagonists. Since he is a demi-god, it is unclear how death affects him. He is friendly and his undead-ness is never used for shock or horror
