I don’t believe any actual animals were harmed in the making of this series, but there is lots of animal abuse and death portrayed in this series. It’s very triggering what many of these people have done.
About a quarter of the way into the episode, the woman starts talking about how she loved cats but her dad hated them. She talks about how he taunted the strays and she saw them dead on the ground later. There are a couple graphic details she recalls about it. Recommend fast forwarding about 2-3 minutes to avoid that part completely.
The foster father initiates a sexual relationship with his 17 year old foster child/daughter Sabrina. While she alleges that this contact was consensual, it should be noted that she was a minor at the time, and this could still fall within the definition of statutory rape both legally and/or personally. Please be aware that this is a running theme in this episode and is both alluded to and discussed directly multiple times throughout.
There are a couple episodes where v*miting is mentioned or happens, but you never see or hear anything. The most I’ve seen so far is one scene where a dad is poisoned and shown leaning over a toilet, but the actor isn’t actually v*miting so you don’t see anything, and you don’t hear anything. As a pretty severe emetophobe I haven’t seen anything very triggering yet, as of season 11. There is one episode where a guy mentions having to eat his v*mit as a child.
There isn’t any propaganda for cops as these stories are told through eyes of victims, but in many of these stories cops fail to help them and sometimes even cause more harm in the end.
Towards the end of the episode, the murderer testifies in the husband (of the victim’s) trial; she alleges that Kevin told her he would commit suicide if his wife didn’t leave him soon; Sabrina alleges that this was part of her motivation to kill her foster mother.
