One of the most common plots on the show is George confronting Benny over her abuse and neglect. Benny frequently tells him to “get over it” and after rehashing something terrible Benny did in the past, they reconcile and George realizes that Benny was “doing her best.” This could be uncomfortable for some survivors of real-life abuse
Another episode deals with a sex offender preying on Lopez’s teenage son
In an episode where Lopez daydreams about being in various 1950s/60s sitcoms, his son comments that he should be “a man’s man, like Rock Hudson or Liberace” - a joke about the fact that both were closeted gay men who died of AIDS
In one episode someone is described as a "shooter" as a joke in response to worry about people being laid off. In another episode someone robs a convenience store with a gun but no one is shot.
Most of the series had sounds and visuals that weren't too triggering for me, since characters almost never actually got sick. It was a lot of puffing up their cheeks, gagging (George does this a lot in reference to his mom and Gina), running out of the room. I've listed the time only time that was upsetting to me, personally.
S6E2: Like 20 minutes into the episode Angie and George are talking about if they were crazy for wanting another kid. Then Max loudly and dramatically makes throw up sounds (no visual), it was really jarring to hear.
