The Drinky Crow Show is an American animated television series created by Eric Kaplan and Tony Millionaire, based on the latter's comic strip Maakies. The pilot episode aired on Cartoon Network's late night programing block, Adult Swim on May 13, 2007. The series premiered on November 23, 2008 and ended January 25, 2009. The cancellation of the show was confirmed by a Maakies comic.
Dino Stamatopoulos provided the voice of the titular character and David Herman the voices of Uncle Gabby and Captain Maak. Millionaire's wife Becky Thyre co-starred as the voice of the Captain's Daughter and Phoebe Bird. Pamela Adlon provided the voice of Mademoiselle DeBoursay, as well as many of the other female characters. Creators Tony Millionaire and Eric Kaplan also provided additional voices. They Might Be Giants perform the show's theme song.
Uncle Gabby neglected his dog to the point it starved to death, this is mentioned in episode four.
When Drinky Crow is doing surgery, there are tumors(?) That look and sound just like dogs, when he removes them they yelp and cry really realistically
Drinky Crow is lored back to his friends house with promise that nothing would happen, she asks him to sit on a chair and she then sits down. Drinky Crow stresses they're just friends, but she jumps ontop of him and SA's him
Yes, though it appears to be played for laughs. In "Elephant Man", a fetus being experimented on is given large breasts, and when the fetus is unveiled, a wolf whistle can be heard, and if I remember correctly someone was making a lewd comment about the fetus.
The show contains a lot of raunchy content despite there being no S label. Characters have sex onscreen (no genitals are seen however) and make sex jokes among many other things.
The word "g*mpy" is used in the pilot; see "Is the r-slur used?" for another instance of ableist language being used. Physically disabled characters are treated horribly; in episode 8, "Elephant Man", a man with Proteus syndrome and neurofibromatosis type I ends up being mocked by almost everyone to the point of wanting to commit suicide. By the end of the episode, Drinky Crow ends up killing him. Also, while not in the actual show itself but in the episode's description, the man is described as a "hideous freak".
In the pilot, a fly eats her dead husband towards the end of the episode. In the series finale, "Peace", Drinky Crow ends up feeding his girlfriend and a bunch of parents her eggs to everyone's horror, and a mother pig eats her own roasted child as well.
As typical for an Adult Swim show, the show contains lots of language, though most of it is mild to moderate (words like "damn", "ass", "bitch", "slut", etc.). The most obscene the show gets is when Phoebe curses repeatedly towards the end of "Peace", the series finale, though it's bleeped out.
After a few minutes into the episode "Bar", it's revealed that the characters on screen are actually animatronic versions of the main cast, though the main cast is still present.
