This was probably the saddest ending I have ever seen, though it is mixed. The end is a little confusing and it does seem to bring up to a happier note. I had to look up information about the meaning of the end from the director before I understood it. Despite the happy~ish ending, the weight of the scenes adjacent to the last, is very heavy emotionally, and held a lasting painful effect on me.
