ReportGravitation follows goofy, wannabe pop star Shuichi Shindo, on his journey to fame with his best friend Hiroshi Nakano and their band, Bad Luck. Along the way, Shuichi meets famous (male) author, playboy Eiri Yuki, and falls in love. Bad Luck is signed to a major record label, and Shuichi must learn how to deal with stardom, jealousy, interference in his band, meeting his musical icon, and dealing with his first romantic relationship - a same-sex celebrity one, at that.

twice: first, in the anime it's part of a major character's backstory; it's never shown on screen and he was able to kill one of his attackers before anything major happened. second, while never revealed in the anime, in the manga a main character is raped by a rival in order to stay quiet. while he is shown dealing with the trauna from it for a while it is never brought up again.
