Angela de Marco is fed up with her gangster husband's line of work and wants no part of the crime world. When her husband is killed for having an affair with the mistress of mob boss Tony "The Tiger" Russo, Angela and her son depart for New York City to make a fresh start. Unfortunately, Tony has set his sights upon Angela -- and so has an undercover FBI agent looking to use her to bust Tony.
There’s a scene where someone is looking in the main character’s shopping cart and points out that she has weight watchers products, then asks the MC if she’s watching her figure. The MC responds “some of us are”
(I read this as the MC kind of implying that the other character is eating food that’s made her gain weight)
Not really, but there’s a scene towards the end which turns out to be a nightmare that the antagonist is having. (I’m not sure if this counts as unstable reality or not)
Multiple people die, including some men who have wives and children. There’s also a shootout where a few of the antagonist’s family members (uncles, cousins, etc) are killed. There’s a funeral scene in the beginning where the mother of the man who was killed is extremely upset and throws herself on the coffin as it’s being lowered into the grave
A minor character is said to have taken “a month’s worth of Valium” and is in the hospital after her husband is killed. She’s not referenced or seen again
A very minor character is said to have overdosed on Valium after her husband was killed and is in the hospital. This is only mentioned once and not expanded upon, so it’s unclear if the character was actually trying to take her life or not
The main character is forcibly kissed by the antagonist and she is very clearly trying to push him off, but other characters (somehow) interpret it as consensual
Cops surveil multiple characters and a mob boss has his goons follow the main character. A store manager uses a peephole to watch the main character change clothes
