There’s a strong implication at the start of the film that the boy shoots a wolf, who is going to attack a horse. They don’t show what happens, they just show a gun shooting, then cut out of the scene.
Edit: they return to the scene later in the film, skip from 50:47-51:15 to skip the scene. Also, definitely skip this part if horses are in your triggers.
It’s unclear if the horse in the flashback is killed by the wolf, by the grandfather, or survives. It isn’t making distress noises by the end of the second flashback scene, which may lead viewers to believe that the reason Vasily is apologizing is because of the death of the horse as well as the missed shot.
There are occasional muzzle flashes, explosions, and a scene where the reflection of broken glass is used as a plot point, but none of these are particularly intense.
No, but the child character’s mother is led to believe she has. She is told the child has betrayed their country and run away to work for Germany, which she accepts so she can flee to safety. Unfortunately, this story was fabricated to keep the truth (that her child was killed) from her.
One sex scene. A woman lasts down with a man and it shows her put her hand down his trousers. She takes off her trousers, it shows her bottom, and they then have sex under a blanket.
