In the future when technological enhancements and robotics are a way of life, Major Motoko Kusanagi and Section 9 take care of the jobs that are too difficult for the police. Section 9 employs hackers, sharpshooters, detectives and cyborgs all in an effort to thwart cyber criminals and their plans to attack the innocent.
Offscreen. The dog that the little girl is searching for is found in the cemetery with a small gravestone. She says that she thought that was where she'd find him based on the explanation that she was given for her dog's absence.
The little girl is looking for her dog and finds him buried in a cemetery with a little tombstone. She had been led to believe thar her dog ran away based on what her parents had told her about his absence.
A street dog is thrown / kicked by one of the Tachikoma robots who figures it has no use since it wasn't the specific dog that it was helping to look for.
A dog's grave. A young girl and a Tachikoma who are looking for the girl's lost dog find him buried in a cemetery with a little gravestone. She thought she would find him there based on what her parents had recently told her about the dog's absence, but that isn't explained to the audience 'til they find his grave.
