Threshold was a science fiction drama television series that first aired on CBS in September 2005. Produced by Brannon Braga, David S. Goyer and David Heyman, the series focuses on a secret government project investigating the first contact with an extraterrestrial species.

In the Burning, the child is told that something else was going on and that he is responsible for the death of his family, that he is lying to the police about what happened. He is made to believe that he is mentally ill

The main characters impersonate various police and government forces and violate many civil rights in order to deal with the extraterrestrial threat. There are no consequences for them.
