Bobby, after being thrown off the horse carriage, calls the elderly black man the word in a derogatory manner. The grandpa says to Joe Ann "You've been hanging out with those -insert word-." Then, Joe Ann calls Honey the word but didn't mean it in a bad way (Mainly bc of poor living conditions and she apologizes not even 5 minutes later). Honey says it after she comes back in a way to tell her what word hurt her more.
The grandpa calls Honey "n---a woman" at the front door twice and Joe Ann's mother says it once when talking to Joe Ann in the bed, Joe Ann defends Honey by saying "Her name is Honey." While visibly angry
