A child is sexually abused and then killed by her father. An adopted child is sexually abused. An adopted child is forced to work until his hands bleed and is not allowed to sleep in the house. The abuse is discussed but not explicitly shown other than a scene that shows a reaction of someone else seeing the sexual abuse.

s16e12, "The Porcelain Maiden" - at approximately 17:34 a man being questioned by Murdoch gets sick (having just been shown a photo of something which upsets him) -- he ducks out of frame so there is audio but no visual... HOWEVER, at about 20:44 we *do* see the remains. It looks pretty fake, but it is stepped in, talked about briefly, and interacted with (though never up close) for the rest of the scene (ends about 22:08) ... quite the escalation from a show that's been relatively emeto-free for 16 years

Specifically, S3E3 deals with the murder of a trans man in the 1890s, and as a result of a lack of awareness and acceptance the victim is constantly misgendered. If this is a trigger, avoid S3E3

Racist hate speech, homophobic hate speech, anti-Semitic hate speech, anti-Catholic hate speech, you name it. At least in the later seasons (S10 on) it's portrayed as bad, but I believe there are a few homophobic early episodes.

When a man is kidnapped by a deranged woman, she ties him up, threatens his life, forcefully kisses him, and injures him. When he gets free and tells others what happened, they don't take him seriously, saying he was "lucky" to be taken by a woman. This is never resolved.

The man is stuck between two cars; it's revealed that he'll be fine and not in pain for now, but once they move the car, he'll die almost instantly. It's a very sad episode dealing more with the man's emotional pain than his physical pain.
