We had a comfortable life until my father went bankrupt and I blamed him for our misfortune. Being 30 and still living with my parents, I do not speak with my father. It is my brother's wedding and I'm not attending his ceremony. I asked my friend to film the wedding and specially my father. This film is an occasion for me to revise my attitude toward every member of my family by talking to them.
This movie contains 1 potentially triggering events.
Man jumps about five minutes into the movie
There is a second suicide as you hit the climax of the film. Flashback, high school aged girl jumps off bridge
End of the movie, you don't really see it but there's a shooting suicide as elevator doors closed
Lots of fabulously choreographed fight scenes including the infamous one dude with hammer versus entire gang. There is plenty of blood at certain points.
See: torture under this title. Dae Su is on a time crunch to find answers. There is a scene where he duct tapes a man to chair & duct tapes his mouth open, and you see him take the nail remover part of the hammer to a tooth. You only see the one but there's a lot of blood and obvious damage after. Pretty easy to skip if as they show the guy all taped down first
In the American version, there’s an almost/attempted rape of the female protagonist after she is captured but nothing happens. Later in the movie, a man shows the main character a video including a graphic rape.
In the Korean movie, there’s no explicit sexual assault but [MAJOR SPOILER] two characters are coerced into a relationship under hypnosis, so the sex scenes are not technically consensual.
<<SPOILERS>>. Bear in mind, this is referring to the 2011 Korean movie. I don't know if the american version much later on has the same plot points. This is a HUGE driving force behind the plot. Two different incestuous relationships. Brother/sister & father/daughter (did not know they were related). Both relationships are consensual, if it's abuse that is the big trigger for a viewer. The father/daughter is the plot twist. Protagonist decides to be hypnotized at the end so he can forget and continue the relationship. The daughter never knows that he's her father.
