Spike Lee's take on the "Son of Sam" murders in New York City during the summer of 1977 centering on the residents of an Italian-American South Bronx neighborhood who live in fear and distrust of one another.
This movie contains 16 potentially triggering events.
We only see Son Of Sam shoot his gun from his window, then yelping is heard. But no corpse is shown, and the movie shows this as possibly a hallucination or a side effect of mental illness. Plus, we see the dog living toward the end of the movie. I don’t think the dog dies, but hearing the yelping might still disturb animal viewers. It’s very quick and easily skippable.
Son Of Sam’s weapon of choice is a .44, and there are a lot of scenes with him shooting people. He also uses a rifle to try and kill a dog, though that may have been one of his visions.
