In darkest rural Ireland, ex-boxer Douglas 'Arm' Armstrong has become the feared enforcer for the drug-dealing Devers family, whilst also trying to be a good father to his autistic five-year-old son, Jack. Torn between these two families, Arm's loyalties are truly tested when he is asked to kill for the first time.
And there is a very, very long speech about the dog dying before it happens. You don't see the dog actually being hurt, but you see it being killed. If you want to see the movie and don't want to see the scene, fast forward from (slight spoilers) where Arm and Dymphna arrive at Paudi's home to when Arm jumps in his car.
You see the lead-up to the assault and the aftermath, and the latter is quite traumatizing. The man who sexually assaults the teen appears several times during the film, though never again hurting her. The sexual assault is a huge part of the plot, so there's absolutely no getting around it. Skip this movie if sexual assault is a theme you don't want to see.
The main character's son is Autistic and his parents usually treat him very well. However, his father is quite cruel to him at the carnival, so you may want to skip this scene.
(CW: I'm sorry, tere's no way to get around describing this in a way that may be upsetting.) Several characters blame David's mother for "giving" her son autism.
