Not excessive in my opinion, blood is shown throughout, the most gore I would say
... **spoilers*** a goat is hit by a car, car accident ensues at end of the movie, and when the main characters arm gets in the accident that severs his hand ***spoilers***

Unfortunately, the central romance is built around stalking. A pizza delivery guy has a nice conversation with a customer over an intercom, and decides he wants to meet her. He then tracks down where she works and follows her to her uncle's house. He gets a new job in her uncle's workshop so he can keep seeing her. When he reveals this to her she is upset, but by the end she seems to have forgiven him (though they don't begin a relationship yet).

Naoufel tries to make it seem like his stalking was no big deal and like he had no other choice but to do it.

Naoufel is shown drinking excessively as a response to being upset, though it doesn't seem to be a regular habit.

The disembodied hand kills a pigeon and accidentally smashes the eggs in its nest. It's "self-defense", kind of, but I found the scene a bit disturbing and unnecessary.

Gratuitous killing of a pigeon. There's also a scene where the hand fights off rats, but the rats don't seem badly hurt.

A fly is a recurring motif, and there are several close-ups on it. In one scene the hand gets covered in ants and jumps in the river to get rid of them. Beetles mating are shown once.

There is a scene in which the hand falls into a frozen river and is swept along beneath the ice. Although hands cannot breathe, the hand is clearly distressed by this and struggles to escape. This may be triggering for some.

The film is about a young man who accidentally severs his hand in a woodworking accident. The disembodied hand wanders the city on its own, trying to get back to its owner. We also see the scene where the main character loses his hand, and while the severing is not directly shown, it's an intense scene with a lot of blood.

The film is about a severed hand with a life of its own. As it tries to return to its owner, it goes through many mishaps including getting cut by glass and bitten by rats and ants. (These injuries never persist into the next scene though, the hand stays unharmed-looking.) There are also flashbacks where the hand "remembers" having a splinter or getting a cut on the finger when it was still a part of Naoufel's body. The scene where the hand is severed (in a woodworking accident) is also shown, and is quite tense and bloody.

In one scene, the hand becomes trapped in a dumpster, which is then emptied into a garbage truck. The truck's compacter is activated and this includes one scene in particular that shows the garbage being compacted from within and the space closing in "around the camera" for probably about five seconds. An early scene in which the hand engages a small group of rats in battle is also somewhat claustrophobic. Some of the fighting takes place in an underground area with a low ceiling. The hand is surrounded and backed against a wall. When the hand escapes, it jumps between the railroad tracks and a train passes overhead, closing in the "camera". Later on, the hand falls into a frozen river and is swept along beneath the ice, struggling to escape.

There is a scene where suicide is strongly implied, but it turns out that the character survives. While feeling depressed, he makes a very risky jump from a rooftop to a crane nearby as some sort of dare to himself. He is elated to have survived, but the scene could be viewed as a suicide attempt.

Brief implied sex scene near the beginning, when a character doesn’t see a note on a door and walks into a bedroom. Later, a character asks what his plan was: “Have sex with the girl?”

This may be open for interpretation, depending on whether you view the hand as a metaphor, but I would classify it as bittersweet/triumphant.

The movie centers on a disembodied hand. An early scene shows various organs in jars, including eyes. One of the eyes gets squished "on-camera". Multiple scenes showing the hand accidentally pricking its finger and bleeding. Graphic scene depicting the loss of the hand and featuring a great deal of blood spatter. Depiction of the killing of animals and their dead bodies.
