When P.R.O.B.E. is summoned to investigate the savage murder of a retired headmaster, Liz Shaw is disturbed to find evidence of satanic rite near the scene of the crime. She soon discovers a web of deceit and corruption that extends back in time, threatening the current occupants of nearby Winterborne School. With P.R.O.B.E. under threat from within and the death toll mounting, Liz finds herself under increasing pressure from all sides to produce results... The Devil of Winterborne is at large and only Liz can stop it!
There is a scene in which consent is blurred due to a lack of communication/people not knowing if other people are also gay. This scene involves two teenagers play fighting on a bed and then there is a suggestive move made by one party. The other party shoves them off and it ends there.
Later on, there is another interaction between these two while one person is tied up where one boy kisses the one who is tied up. These interactions seem to be trying to hint at there being tension between the two but the end result is extremely questionable consent, especially in the second scenario.
There is also a reveal where it is unclear what type of abuse is being discussed and if it was meant to be non-sexual with narrative parallels to sexual assault/abuse or if there actually was sexual assault/abuse. I personally think it was a poorly done parallel but when watching it, it is very unclear and may be just as upsetting no matter which was the intent.
Two seventeen year olds are hinted to be in a sexual relationship and one makes a sexual advance on another, but I don't think this is done to a graphic extent that it counts
There is ongoing ableism towards a disabled character including people mocking his speech impediment and calling him "spastic". The way the character is portrayed by the writer/actor is questionable also.
Someone drinks human blood. I'm not sure if that counts but I'm putting it here anyway. In one instance the person whose blood is being consumed is alive and conscious.
The main character works with the police but they are not portrayed in an overly positive light and are shown to be incompetent. There are some underlying themes of working with the cops being a good idea because they're the "good guys" but it is mild and is more of a bureaucratic thing since P.R.O.B.E needs to be able to work with law enforcement in order to do their job investigating alien/ghostly occurrences.
