to all my fellow emetophobes, for a film about a ship i’m really surprised that there were NO scenes of anybody being ill! i came into the film nervous anyway, but i shouldn’t have been as there is absolutely nothing. the one time i was slightly tense expecting something to happen was (SPOILERS) when phillips is in the lifeboat with the somali pirates, one of the pirates coughs a couple of times, but that is it.

I think the ending is mainly happy because the captain, in shock, is rescued and eventually goes back out to sea as a captain around a year later. However, some pirates died in the process and one was a teenager.
