Pardon-me Pete, the official groundhog of Groundhog Day, tells the story of Jack Frost, who falls in love with a beautiful young woman and begs Father Winter to make him human so that she can see him. His request is granted, but only on the condition that by the spring he has a house, a bag of gold, a horse and a wife. But Jack finds that life as a human is more complicated then he thought.
YES. I'm a grown adult and this movie makes me cry every time.
-- MASSIVE SPOILERS --
Jack Snip rushes to propose to Elisa only to find her at her wedding with Sir Ravenaugh. Elisa's father tells Jack that she never loved Jack Snip, only Jack Frost. No one knows that Jack Snip and Jack Frost are the same person. Elisa only realizes when Jack Snip turns back into Jack Frost and freezes her wedding bouquet. She starts to cry and says "an old friend has kissed the bride." They never see each other again AND THAT'S HOW THE MOVIE ENDS :')
While not explicitly stated, VERY heavily implied. Kubla Kraus (the villain) has a large, crooked nose, he steals all of the wealth in January Junction, has a very "Fiddler on the Roof"-esque musical number, it's not looking great.
Implied. When Jack first turns into a human, he falls out of the sky, crashes into a tree, and hits the ground. He then says "I have bones! I think I just broke one." Jack shows no visible signs of injury or distress and he immediately gets over it.
There is complicated unknowing cheating, but none of the characters involved are canonically bisexual. That's a matter strictly depending on your headcanon.
Unknowingly-- it's complicated. Elisa loves Jack Frost. Jack Frost, in the human world, only goes by "Jack Snip." Elisa never knows he's Jack Frost until after she

marries Sir Ravenaugh. Jack is heartbroken because Elisa said she loved Jack Frost. Her father tells him "She never loved you, Jack Snip. She only loved Jack Frost." Again, no one in the human world knows of Jack's true identity. At the wedding, Jack Snip turns back into Jack Frost and turns Elisa's bouquet white. Elisa cries and says "an old friend has kissed the bride." This movie is sad, guys.
Kind of. While no one dies, Jack sacrifices his human form to save January Junction. Jack gets his human form a little bit later on in the movie, but he again gives that up.
Yes, Pardon-Me-Pete is the narrator who talks to the audience and tells us the film's events. At the end of the movie, all of the characters look at the audience, smile, and wave to us. If you're not a fan of a narrator talking directly to you, I'd avoid Rankin/Bass Christmas specials because that's a very common framing device.
Yes. While there are no Romani characters, a slur for Romani people is used constantly throughout. One of the characters (who is referred to as this slur) is described as being so short because a "*insert Romani slur here* got mad at her and cursed her with *insert Romani slur here* magick." Additionally, Kubla Kraus can be easily interpreted as an antisemitic caricature.
