Romeos
Movie • 2011 • Drama
ReportLukas, 20, is a prisoner in his own body. As a pre-op transgendered person, he is constantly finding himself trapped in uncomfortable, compromising positions. His best friend, Ine introduces him to the gay scene in Cologne where he meets the confident and gorgeous, Fabio. The two develop a romantic relationship that tests the boundaries of love. ROMEOS forgoes stereotypes and conventions to offer an honest and humorous examination of the most basic of human conditions: friendship, sex, and love.

Ine knew Lukas before he transitioned and calls him by his deadname (deadname - the name a transgender person uses/used before coming out) throughout the movie and seems to have a problem with his transition. Lukas's mom calls him by his deadname and his sister calls him her sister and by his deadname, and eventually outs (out - to tell someone, usually against the person's will, about someone else's gender and/or sexuality) him against his will to the guy he likes and the girls in his dorm

there is some anti-trans language used, along with ignorant comments related to the subject, and the trans male protagonist is called a "tr*nny" (please don't use this, it's roughly equivalent to f*g/f*ggot but for a transgender woman/transfeminine person, despite being commonly used against trans men/transmasculine people)
