Unico In The Island of Magic
Movie • 1983 • Animation
ReportBased on "Unico and the Kingdom of the Sun," which was newly written as a theater version, this animated film features a battle between the wizard Kukuruku and Unico. Kukuruku builds a castle using dolls transformed from men as building parts. The story revolves around the sorrow and terror of men who have been transfigured into dolls, and a girl named Cherry who wishes to recover the kindness in her brother, who is a student of Kukuruku. This work reminds us of the fact that "transformation" or "transfiguration" --- favorite themes of Tezuka Osamu --- involves not only material aspects, but also man's immaterial heart [Taken from AniDB]

more context for the other comment: a living doll enchants other dolls and statues to dance, including a young girl who's been transformed. nothing about the dance, in my eyes, reads as provocative. she isn't in revealing clothing (long baggy jumpsuit) and it's a ballet-style dance with lots of dives and kicks. and the living doll isn't depicted as attracted to the young girl, or any of the other dancing beings. just in want of regular entertainment. but exercise your own judgement

Animals are turned into eerie statues and stay that way for most of the movie. Some are assumedly dead because many of the statues are destroyed at the end.
