We find out the main character in foster care has a mother who is still raising two other siblings but refuses to care for the protagonist because of her violence. There are multiple sequences involving this child asking to be taken back or thinking she will be taken back, but the mother never accepts her.

Benni's family situation is difficult. Around 21:00 her mum's boyfriend hits her when she has another anger attack. Her mother is emotionally distant towards her and apparently she has some early childhood trauma from physical abuse.

Protagonist is a traumatized child who has frequent rage outburst and hurts other people when triggered. She is not a consistent abuser to one person over whom she has power, she just lashes out at whoever is nearby and does some harm before being subdued

Frequent use of restraints on child protagonist. Often stretchers in an ambulance or other people physically holding her down. Always when she is trying to physically harm herself or others

Briefly. After there is a quiet moment between Benni and a baby, the mother tries to remove the baby from Benni and Benni runs upstairs with it. She locks the infant in a room with herself and the parents panic, but within a few minutes Benni leaves the baby in the room unharmed and jumps out the window alone.

Benny is in hospital for mental health a few times in the movie. First time includes a visual of a mechanical restraint bed and visually heavily implies Benny having been drugged/medicated. Later there are verbal references to seclusion in the context of mental institution stays of Benny.

You could read Benni as autistic and she is mistreated as a result of mental health symptoms. But the explicit reason given for her symptoms is PTSD and the mistreatment is all attempts to stop her from doing physical harm, not just to conform to social norms

Only slightly. Last shot of the film involves the picture cracking like a glass screen. Some characters incidentally look toward the camera but they are not actually addressing the audience.

The guy who ends up taking the main character on a sort of “retreat” said some upsetting things about the young girl (main character). Something along the lines of “It’s a pity we can’t just lock them up and leave them at that age anymore.” For a guy who is supposed to care about this child, his comments are unnecessary and rude.

The ending is ambiguous. Benni stays in the system and the social workers try another solution to her, but to me the ending is sad.
