This movie has a very strange and almost orientalist depiction of a desert community, leaning a bit toward misrepresentations of middle eastern people. One of the main characters, Eric, is half descended from these people who are known as Sebians. His skin is visibly darker from the other doctors around him, and the movie starts with the implication that he is more rebellious and less trusting than other doctors, but stays with the idea that he is generally in the right. The whole movie feels like its going to get really bad, because its produced by the guy who wrote Kimba The White Lion (which IS really bad), but stays rather passable.
TLDR: This movie feels like its going to be really racist, but just ends up kinda orientalist.
