Sort of, it's nice with the wedding and all, but the main characters know they may get deported, and it's not like China was a great place in the 1960s, since the main character is one of the few upper class traditional chinese left--if she returned it wouldn't have been safe for them

One of the women is a stripper--she covers herself in a ball of fans to reveal a flesh covered suit. She is very hands-on flirtatous and sings a song about her figure. Another woman seems to be getting turned on while watching romantic shows. Another woman ends up in the arms of men during a dance scene. It is implied that the main character may have gotten drunk and slept with her.

Not abusive, but the parents believe in traditional control over their children, including arranged marriages, so it's up to you to decide if that evokes memories or not

The police seem ready to arrest someone for panhandling--scaring mail-order marriage visitors who didn't do so legally "lu-lu-lu-license???" (the lady visitor later comes to the realization that this might be a problem and calls herself a "wetback"--this appears to be an old term no longer used, my apologies if it's a slur)

We don't see the gun or true violence, there's a robbery "at gunpoint" but it's possible that the gun was a bluff

No, but it is weird that no native Chinese starred in the movie. They were either Japanese or part Chinese/White. Not sure if they didn't like how real Chinese looked or if it was just coincidence.

Sammy is cheated on and forced into an arranged marriage he doesn't want, so he SPOILER humiliates the girl he wants to marry so she won't marry someone else, and lies about her character to his mother who forced him into an arranged marriage. The mother agrees to it in probable duress because his mail order bride may get deported and they are in the middle of a wedding.

Linda goes on dates with W**g Ta while it's implied that she still dates Sammy. However, it appears that Sammy is aware of this. W**g Ta & Mei Li kiss even though she's engaged to Sammy.

With the notable exception of getting turned on while watching romance movies, and a slight sadness when she gets rejected, something about the main character seems that she lacks emotion, there's no deep joy or frustration. The actress is Japanese trying to play a Chinese woman that struggles with the language, but it appears that she threw out all personality in her performance.

W**g Ta runs into a clearly inebriated buddy during the lunar new year celebrations. He then gets drunk himself. Both scenes are played for laughs. This all starts after Linda gets exposed at the night club

It's implied that a seamstress took advantage of the nice clean boy (probably a virgin) when he was drunk

Not exactly, traditional Chinese customs are usually religiously based--and tradition is huge in this movie, but I think they wanted to avoid addressing them directly
