ReportWhen Ashtray (Shawn Wayans) moves to South Central L.A. to live with his father (who appears to be the same age he is) and grandmother (who likes to talk tough and smoke reefer), he falls in with his gang-banging cousin Loc Dog (Marlon Wayans), who along with the requisite pistols and Uzi carries a thermo-nuclear warhead for self-defense. Basically yes. There is a scene where one of the characters sees a girl at a party and puts a gun to her head and demands her number and says he will kill her if she doesn't answer when he calls. The gag is that she is tough so she pulls out her own gun and then they dance with guns to each other's heads. While I understand what they were going for, they didn't hit the note. It was written by a bunch of dudes and was pretty cringy from a dating violence perspective.

Several teenagers are shot and presumed dead. Probably more upsetting, though, is that as a supposed gag a mother shows up exaggeratedly grieving two of the shootings. The humor was meant to parody how such scenes are portrayed in what is now referred to as "trauma porn", however, it falls flat and makes it seem like the grieving mother is more the butt of the joke.
