John Peterson lives with his partner Eric and their adopted daughter in Southern California. When he is visited by his aging father Willis from Los Angeles who is searching for a place to retire, their two very different worlds collide.

Young Willis and young John go duck hunting very quickly into the film. John manages to shoot a duck, which you see but is brief, then he doesn’t want to let go of the duck so he literally plays with it in the bath and takes it to bed with him; this lasts quite awhile.
