There is an extended scene meant to be a prison rape “joke” that has not aged well at all. The main character avoids being assaulted by distracting the aggressors with a mildly homophobic rap about not wanting to be raped. It’s played lightheartedly, but pretty cringey.

While the end credits roll we hear audio of a character getting “whupped” with a belt, while the father makes light of child abuse. It’s played for laughs, but I wish it wasn’t included.

During the credits there is off screen audio of a character getting beat by his father for sneaking out. Played for laughs.

One of the bullies hits an opossum repeatedly with a baseball bat. You don’t see the possum get hit, just the guy swinging over and over. You do hear the possum squeal after the first hit, but nothing after the other swings. Supposed to be played for laughs but just random and unnecessary. Can be easily skipped without missing any of the movie.

Wouldn’t call it abuse, but could be upsetting: when a character is sneaking out of the house, he hides a barking small pet dog under the lid of an unused charcoal grill. The movie does not go back to the dog, but does not give us reason to think the dog was harmed.

References only. There is a scene where several men being held in a jail cell with the main character (who is a teenager) are menacing the teen with rape threats. The punchline of a “what are you in for” bit is “I used to run a daycare.”

There is an entire scene and song dedicated to a character in jail trying not to be raped. It is completely unnecessary and can be easily skipped.

It’s comedically waking up in the morning, not played as ominous. One of the first scenes of the film.

There are cops in this movie, but they are the buffoonish villains, lampooned for their racism and violence.

There’s a lot of gay slurs in the film as was typical of the time. When Kid and Play are in jail they do a rap about prison rape.
