No one vomits, but while Sienna washes a piece of clothing in the kitchen sink, she mentions that she can't tell which stains are from vomit or baby food.

No children are abused, but there are two plotlines about parents ignoring and disapproving of their adult LGBTQ+ children.

The night after Maybelline stays with Joan, Maybelline wakes up to sounds of a struggle. She then hears and sees a woman being violently sexually assaulted by a man (whom the woman had just started going out with). While Maybelline takes care of the woman afterwards, Maybelline implies that she has been hit before too.

There are mentions throughout the movie that a character (who dies from overdosing on a white powder and alcohol in the opening scene) was addicted to alcohol and drugs. Another character is revealed to be addicted to white powder as well, and Maybelline helps that character go cold turkey.

The centre point of the plot is that in the opening scene, an LGBTQ+ man overdoses on a white powder (paired with alcohol) and dies. After practising a performance with the drag queens, Maybelline walks into the club's bathroom to see someone else using white powder. She then helps that character go cold turkey. There is a brief discussion of the other club employees and guests using drugs and drinking, but that it was just for occasional fun and not due to addictions.

For the first part of the movie, Maybelline is ignorant about LGBTQ+ people, and she misgenders drag queens and a trans woman.

No guns are fired, but the night after Maybelline stays with Joan, Maybelline wakes up to sounds of a struggle. She then hears a woman being violently sexually assaulted by a man, so she gets a gun and holds the rapist at gunpoint until he leaves.
