Descriptions of abusing his son via CSA, as well as his wife's silence and blame towards their son. Eileen's father is verbalyl abusive & is in active alcohol addiction, so she must take care of him in various ways (ie. medical traige, socially, hiding his shoes so he can't point is gun in the street).

Verbals abuse from Eileen's father; he also hides the car keys from her, throws objects at her from the stairs, hollers on their street while cocking his gun.

Eileen's father is depicted experiencing active alcohol addiction, seen drinking. Rebecca mentions that she's had too much to drink when she and Eileen go to a bar.

There are three major jump scares that I can remember, the three being loud gun shots that are very jarring, the scenes are also slightly graphic.
The first scene happens when Eileen is given custody of her father’s gun by a neighborhood cop, she puts the gun to her chin and shoots herself. The second scene happens when Eileen and her father and returning from the store, as her father puts down his things she shoots him in the head. These two scenes are only imagined and we find out moments later in both.
The third scene, real and not imagined, happens when Eileen goes down to the basement in the Polk house. As Mrs. Polk is finishing talking about what she did to her son, Eileen shoots her.

The main character daydreams and those daydreams are shown as if they are really happening. The audience is not intended to know the event didn’t actually occur until afterwards.

Near the beginning, we see Eileen eating sweets in bed, chewing and spitting them back into the wrapper. The scene implies she does this often, though it's more detailed in the book. She admits to enjoying sweets often to Rebecca, who remarks that 'I could never tell, you're so petite!'

Several brief & peculiar masturbatory scenes: at the beginning, Eileen shoves snow down the front of her skirt after watching a couple in a nearby car makeout; later, she briefly puts her hand down her skirt at work & fantastizes about the securiy guard. Near the end, there is discussion of CSA that does not describe it but instead scenarios around it in detail.
