Thirteen explores how to pick up the threads of a life half-lived and how to survive as a family under the greatest pressure: how to feel again, chance love again. It is a psychological drama about who to trust when you can't even trust yourself. Ivy Moxham is a young girl. Ivy Moxham is a woman. Ivy Moxham is whoever you want her to be.

I’d say no. Although there is heavy police presence they’re honestly awful at their job. Their main theory is that Ivy was involved/willingly kidnapped and not in terms of “she could have been groomed” like they really do think she’s active in that “relationship”
At one point Owen breaks into the therapist office to read ivys notes and reads that she regrets leaving Mark (she escaped non-violently, essentially walked out the door because he left her alone) because of how overwhelmed/lonely she is and that seems to be framed as detestable rather than just “she’s been captive for 13 years and this is something like 3-4 days since being home and as such she hasn’t even began to adjust yet”
As well as that Ivy becomes inappropriately attached to Owen and he doesn’t take steps to mitigate that till after she’s under suspicion for murder (she’s innocent btw) and it seems to have sullied her image to him.
Clearly I could rant for days about the police presence in the show 😂
