Brantley Foster, a well-educated kid from Kansas, has always dreamed of making it big in New York, but once in New York, he learns that jobs - and girls - are hard to get. When Brantley visits his uncle, Howard Prescott, who runs a multi-million-dollar company, he is given a job in the company's mail room.
Someone tells a story about the family dog being run over by a car, leaving the kids crying until they got a new dog as a replacement. Nothing is shown but it's played as a joke, which is kind of disturbing
Can't really decide for yes or no here. When the main character moves into his apartment, he quickly crushes a bug with a flat iron. There's not really a bug and it's played as a joke. Probably not a trigger for most but better safe than sorry
The main character has an affair with his bosses's wife, whom he calls "Aunt Vera". They're not actually related though. If I remember correctly, it's more of a "close friends of the family" kind of thing. Could still potentially be triggering for some
Kind of. In the first instance, it's hard to tell, since it's this typical 80s/90s comedy thing where you don't really know if the male character is into it or not. But for me, it was uncomfortable to watch. In another scene much later in the movie, he is very clearly saying no and is not taken seriously
