The detective finds a dead deer with claw marks on it’s stomach in the middle of the road one night. It is immediately after the scene where the second detective enters the gas station to get a cup of coffee.

Deer and horses. The deaths aren’t graphic and you only see their dead bodies.

There is scene where the deputies get out of their car to help Claire and her father during an altercation. Horses are heard whinnying in distress but it is never shown if any are killed/hurt. In the scene following the lead deputy gets out of his car to discover a dead horse in the side of the road. It’s body has began to decay.
