There is heavy discussion of domestic violence in season two. It is revealed that housewife Taylor Armstrong was severely, physically abused by her husband Russell. It is a central point of discussion as they show her journey through therapy, until she eventually gets out of the situation. It is depicted in detail verbally, but she is also seen with a black eye near the end of the season. It is very disturbing. She also faces a great deal of victim blaming from the cast and the validity of her story is repeatedly questioned.

Kim Richard’s dog Kingsley, has behavioural issues and a cruel trainer comes in who uses disturbing methods of punishment. There are a few clips interspersed through the episodes but episode 2 is, in my opinion, the most upsetting.

Much of season 12 revolves around Dorit Kemsley’s experience overcoming trauma from a terrifying home invasion (which is partly depicted in the show). She is shown in therapy sessions discussing trauma, and her story, along with many of her symptoms of PTSD are detailed throughout the season.
