Both in the anime (S2 Ep. 5) and the manga, a character is seen kicking and eventually killing a cat that another character was taking care of. The cat is revealed to be fine, later, after it is revealed that the world that the character is currently residing in isn't real.

There is a short side-story at the end of season one and in the manga, where Reigen takes Mob to go searching for a Tsuchinoko, a mythical snake-like beast.

Manipulation is a recurring theme of the series. While these themes are initially played for comedy, later arcs get more serious and feature characters who explicitly use gaslighting as a means of keeping others under control.

In the anime and manga a spirit possesses a girl. To break free of psychic restraints he breaks her bones. In the anime her fingers are shown breaking. I am unsure about the manga.

At the beginning of the Mogami Arc, Mogami steps on Mob’s head as he is turned to stone, and once he is stone his head is crushed. None of this is real or has any real world consequences, but it’s quite upsetting nonetheless.

Theres a scene with what appears to be burned corpses, although later it is confirmed these were fake, it is still graphic and upsetting. The first season, although its not really shown, its referenced that a man got burned alive.

(Ch 91.1 || S2E13) A character is buried under dirt + debris off-screen, and is dug out some time later. While the camera is from the character's point of view, the framing is not claustrophobic and the character shows no signs of distress.

In the manga, a ghost (Mogami), traps Mob in a false version of his life where he no longer has friends or family, and is bullied incessantly and violently. Though it is shown to last only a few moments in reality, Mob perceives this period of psychological torture as lasting for months, and is upset greatly by it.

(Ch. 61 || S2E4) The spirit possessing the body of a young girl attempts to free itself from restraints by breaking a number of the girl's bones. Despite the audible cracking sounds and visible blood, the girl is later shown to be physically fine. (Ch. 90.8 || S2E13) Psychic powers are used to break many bones simultaneously. Though the skin is not pierced, it is visibly and audibly painful.

At the very end of S3 E8, Inukawa, a 14 year old, is seen naked and covered head to toe in kiss marks from the alien nation the cast visits during that episode. Inukawa also shows signs of disassociation, which can be distressing. Roughly 30 seconds later, a female alien is seen laying next to him in bed romantically.

There are no actual clowns, but there is a character, Dimple, who is a ghost, and whose appearance includes exaggerated rosy red cheeks, which appear on anyone he happens to be possessing. This could create a potentially upsetting, clownlike appearance.

The police don't really show up in the manga or anime, surprisingly. None of it I would consider copaganda. There is one time I can think of near the end of S2 where a character mentions it's probably best to phone the police, though they don't end up involving them. During the scene where Shimizaki is abducting the prime minister on live television, a bunch of cops or security guards show up on stage to stop him. In chapter 100 of the manga, some cops show up to attempt to talk to one of the characters, but fails.

Mob, who is autistic coded, whenever he is emotionally overwhelmed can enter a state the show refers to as ???% where he becomes a violent walking mass of unstoppable psychic power, attacking anything in sight. The climax of the third season revolves around most of the cast trying to stop ???% as he goes on a rampage, destroying the city and attacking anyone he lays eyes upon, including his friends and brother.

Although it isn't self harm, ep8 of s2 shows young Mob with a skinned knee, and his mother takes a look at it. When she does, what is shown on screen is a closeup of multiple horizontal cuts simultaneously bleeding.

The biggest joke about the girls' school uniform scheme is that it's 100% obvious that Reigen is a grown ass man wearing the uniform & trying to enter an all girls high school & the security guard calls him a pervert - however he thinks that Reigen is creeping on Mob and let's him in the school where it's a surprisingly wholesome imo

There is a panty shot of a middle school girl in the first season. Two boys falsely accuse another boy of stealing and licking girls' musical instruments. Dimple says that Tsubomi has a "nice ass." There is a flasher who exposes himself to children. There are also mentions of porn, puberty, etc.
