Four directors collaborated to remake four episodes of the popular television series 'The Twilight Zone' for this movie. The episodes are updated slightly and in color (the television show was in black-and-white), but very true to the originals, where eerie and disturbing situations gradually spin out of control. "A Quality of Mercy", "Kick the Can", "It's a Good Life", and "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet".
This movie contains 8 potentially triggering events.
a child is described as being abusive towards his family by keeping them hostage, per his wish, which is a little uncomfortable but no physical violence
first segment: a man is upset he lost his promotion to a jewish colleague and goes on an antisemitic rant with theories, then loops in other races and slurs (hard r, anti asian terms). at least two scenes with nazi soldiers, including having a gold star pinned to his suit and thrown onto a train car, implying he’s going to a camp
second segment has some lighthearted jokes about a jewish couple that could maybe be seen as stereotypical but not with ill intent
no, but segment two takes place in a nursing home and one of the tenants frequently expresses how they’re all old and brittle. there’s an implication one of the characters was left by his family any is turned down to go visit them at home. the segment is sweet but made me emotional regarding age/mortality and how saddened the characters are about being old and missing youth
segment four: plane does NOT crash but character repeatedly claims it will, going thru a bad storm with turbulence. it’s later shown to be sabotaged but they land safely
