Episode 7. The scene in the forest there is a fight over a stag, and the stag is hit with a weapon, collapses, and moans in pain for a bit before it is beheaded. The stag is very clearly CGI, but it can still be distressing to watch. The two other animals in season 1, a bunny and a goat, are both unharmed.

There’s a scene in season 2 where they tried to make someone fight wolves but it didn’t actually happen.

Some characters are orphaned and it is implied that when a child is found to possess supernatural abilities, they are taken away from their families

They’re not treated the best in the orphanage, but I wouldn’t say they were abused. However, two other characters have some abuse in their past, but it’s only vaguely hinted at.

The books are more explicit about Inej's backstory as a forced prostitute but the show is far vaguer about it, but it worth noting. A character also briefly mentions being assaulted. Nothing appears on screen.

I wasn’t expecting it but yes, there is a plot in the first few episodes where someone is tortured for information and is shown multiple times tied to a chair and being mocked with specific triggers like “Good boy” and non-consensual face touching.

Some may not consider it excessive, but I am sensitive to animal-related violence. There's a lot of supernatural creature fighting, blood, and the scene with the stag I thought was unnecessarily long, gory, and agonizing.

There is a scene where Jesper g* multiple times. Not super triggering personally but definitely put me on edge. S1 E7, when Inej tells Jesper to get her bag. It stops when that scene stops. The next scene later into it Mal has blood come out of his mouth and it might be triggering to some people.

David is autistic-coded in the books, although I think it’s a bit less obvious in the show... he goes through some very traumatic stuff but I wouldn’t say any of it is autism-specific abuse. (SPOILERS: skip this if you don’t want spoilers… David is killed by a shadow creature at the end of the second season.) A case could also be made for Wylan, who is canonically neurodivergent in at least one way (SPOILERS: he’s dyslexic)… I guess he could also be the autistic-coded character @justaqueerdragon is referring to? (Warning: character backstory spoilers ahead) In the books, Wylan’s father is ashamed of him because he can’t read. He is verbally and physically abusive towards Wylan because of his dyslexia (among other things) and tries to get rid of him in more ways than one… which might be all too relatable for some autistic folks.

There is a scene where several characters have to transport inside a very tight compartment while being attacked. Unsure if it counts but it's worth mentioning.

Kaz sort of has some anxiety/panic attacks in season 2, but I think they’re more like PTSD flashbacks. Edit: he definitely has some panic-like symptoms (heavy breathing, dizziness, etc). So I’d say he does have panic attacks.

In the first episode a ship is attacked by monsters and multiple people die, and one of the first is a black woman. She is not the very first, but is among the first deaths in the show. Her death is quite graphic.

Also, the main character nearly gets attacked as a child in the first episode due to anti-Shu / anti-Asian hate, and then sent to the back of the food line for the same reason.

One of the main characters is a sharpshooter and is constantly seen with his guns and shoots multiple people. Also various characters throughout the show have guns and rifles and shoot at both people and monsters.

Various scenes throughout the show depicting blood. Most graphic are beheadings, amputations and a girl sewing up her own injury.
