Kurzgesagt (German for "in a nutshell") is a Munich based design studio with a distinctive perspective on design and animation within the fields of education, science and commerce. Founded in 2012 by Philipp Dettmer & Stephan Rether, the studio engages in information design projects of all kinds. We love science, minimalism, colors and music. But most of all combining them to tell stories.

In the “size-of-life” series, to answer hypotheticals regarding the size of cells and why animals are the sizes they are, animals melt into goo or explode into gore to demonstrate why hitting something with a shrink/growth ray would be a very very bad idea. Some videos that cover topics regarding the meat industry show malnourished or ill animals in crowded spaces. This is all in Kurzgesagt’s highly stylistic and simple art style however. If you’re upset by these topics, it’s best to skip the videos covering them.
