Tom and Jerry get sick off screen after being fed castor oil in "Baby Puss". You can hear groans, but there's no visual nor audio of the v*.

In "Baby Puss", the little girl talks about spanking Tom and feeding him castor oil as punishment. It's very old-school, but some may consider this to be abuse that she's reflecting onto Tom.

I mean there are some episodes where Tom "dies" and becomes an angel, but he is brought back to life.

Animals are constantly getting hurt in cartoonish ways. In "Baby Puss", a girl forces Tom to eat castor oil and threatens to spank him multiple times. Tom's owners (Mammy Two-Shoes, George and Joan, Angry-Guy-from-Gene-Deitch-Era) also hit and punish him at times.

The two titular characters are animals and feel the whole range of emotions. They are notably depressed in Blue Cat Blues.

One episode has Jerry chewing a gumball with glue in it that gets stuck in his mouth. A lot of chewing sounds included.

Watch out for the episode Downhearted Duckling. An ADORABLE baby duck thinks of himself as ugly and spends the majority of the episode trying to… no longer be around. I’m crying thinking about it.

Both iterations of Mammy are extremely racist. The original was the Mammy stereotype and the redesign is whitewashing. The tolerant solution would be to keep the character Black but redesign and redub her so she’s no longer stereotypical, but they’ve never done this.
