Synopsis

A historical epic inspired by true events that took place in The Kingdom of Dahomey, one of the most powerful states of Africa in the 18th and 19th centuries. The story follows Nanisca (Davis), general of the all-female military unit, and her daughter Nawi, who together fought the French and neighboring tribes who violated their honor, enslaved their people and threatened to destroy everything they’ve lived for.

2 people had answered no with no comment/source. In looking it up, it looks like The Woman King was not AHA certified. (This is the organization that authorizes productions to use "No Animals were Harmed in the Making") so, I guess that's enough for a yes?

There are multiple non-consentual restraint scenes including flashes of SA occurring showing a leg being restrained. The film is focused on slavery and attempted enslavement so there are a lot of people chained, locked up, tied etc.

There are two visual flashes of SA. Suggestive flashes rather than a graphic & focused scene. As someone who -cannot- handle SA scenes without feeling sick, it was very manageable but a survivor of SA (or someone who respons worse than having a sinking feeling) may want to skip as these 2 flashes coupled with references throughout the movie may be too much.

Description of what is shown TW:

You see a leg tied and someone laying between them, crying, zoomed in faces, and someone above the person being attacked. There is a male standing behind the other man which implies that he is waiting to be the next assaulter. The implication later confirmed by the survivor. There is no movement of either assaulter or survivor's bodies to implicate what is happening.

Technically yes, but not in the usual context of this trope. Most of the cast is poc and the first death is a man of a rival tribe, most if not all of which is poc. So factually yes, but the usual implications present with it are not
