The Alchemist assembles together a group of people from all walks of life to represent the planets in the solar system. The occult adept's intention is to put his recruits through strange mystical rites and divest them of their worldly baggage before embarking on a trip to Lotus Island. There they ascend the Holy Mountain to displace the immortal gods who secretly rule the universe.
No child is being beaten in the movie, but there are many occasions in which children could be interpreted as abused such as: used for experimentation, witnessing gruesome scenes, prostitution (implied not graphic) etc.
They blow up a portion of the set with live frogs on it. It should be pointed out that the animal abuse and death in this movie is real, not effects. It's horrifically gruesome.
Kind of. A woman, as part of an art exhibit, has her head covered but is otherwise nude. Her body is painted. A man approaches and fondled her breasts and vagina.
There's a scene where a man unexpectedly takes out a prosthetic eyeball - this isn't mutilation, certainly, but it might be upsetting if you're sensitive to eye trauma scenes.
