There are multiple references to a character's past alcoholism, and a series of scenes where they go out drinking with friends and stumble home.

The death is offscreen, no specific details are given as to how it happened. It is portrayed as a deeply sad but mostly peaceful event (no hints towards a violent / gorey / painful event).

No, although on a maybe slightly similar note : two kids get promised an outing only to be let down due to their parent's work obligations as a doctor. They are both quite upset by this and mention it is not unusual.

There's one mannequin you can see for like half a frame in the office of Noriko as she is working. It is very discrete and not relevant to the story.

One minor character is a former police chief but is not portrayed in a particularly positive light. A policeman shows up at a house for one brief scene.

No, although Ozu films many of his dialogs in such a way that it kinda looks like the character is looking straight at you when they're talking. (It is almost filmed 'interview style' where the character looks straight at the camera while talking and you can't see who they're talking to). This is just an impression though. The characters do not break the fourth wall and actually talk to the audience.

One baby is shown in the background of a very short scene midway through the movie. He is not relevant to the plot.

In one specific scene, a character makes 2-3 quick but slightly unkind comments about her mother's weight when she was younger and how she supposedly broke a chair due to it. The mother doesn't seem to take it too poorly although she does disagree. These jokes do not reappear elsewhere in the movie as far as I noticed (and I would argue the character who made them is meant to be unsympathetic for the most part). One more serious comment is made at the end of the film about the link between ill health / risk of death and the character's weight.

Light / not catastrophic yes : some of the younger characters act a little dismissive / uncaring about an elderly woman's health concerns / health scares (although mostly / exclusively in private conversations and not when directly discussing it with her).
