65 million years ago, the only 2 survivors of a spaceship from Somaris that crash-landed on Earth, must fend off dinosaurs to reach the escape vessel in time before an imminent asteroid strike threatens to destroy the planet.
Koa is not technically gaslighted but Mills does mislead her into thinking her parents are at the escape ship when they are actually deceased (which he knows while initially communicating with her through the communication barrier).
There’s a scene of Mills applying some kind of cryo/freeze spray to stop the bleeding from a side wound received during the crash. No other use of any drugs
Not strictly a "pet", but the baby dinosaur they rescue from a tar pit is almost immediately attacked and killed by a pack of (what appear to be) small raptors
After the main character is given a pink flower, he climbs a tree and there are multiple spiders when he nears the top The scene lasts a couple minutes.
Are dinosaurs dragons? That’s for you to decide because some look like weird Komodo dragon/crocodile lizardy things. Also pterosaurs if you would count that as a dragon.
The final dino battle before they get the heck out of dodge the giant lizardy dinosaur (that was previously injured by Mills at the cave) is defeated by a geyser, and the melted flesh of the dinosaur’s head/face is shown as it flops down dead. We see a dead dinosaur body with maggots crawling around its rotting head. We also see the bodies of the deceased cryo chamber occupants as Mills is investigating the crash site, including charred bodies and at least one person in a tree.
Mills falls out of a tree dislocating his right shoulder, he is clearly in pain and struggles to put it back in place in time to use it to defend himself and koa.
There is a bug in the mouth scene that for all intents and purposes is extremely adjacent to vomiting. TW: Foam/goo coming out of her mouth, her mouth is opened to show an insect inside. When the insect is removed she gasps, rolls over, and gags/coughs and more foam comes out
Mills takes his helmet off on a foreign planet, assuming the atmosphere will kill him (it does not). he also points a gun at his head, intending to shoot himself, but he decides against it.
There is a scene where Koa tries to put a flower in Mills hair. He keeps trying to move away from her clearly objecting to it before a hard cut to him walking through the jungle with said flower in his hair. While he isn’t made fun of in the movie, the scene is designed for the audience to laugh at. So kind of, but not really.
Koa is essentially the “daughter” character that Mills wishes he still had. So age gap is big in the sense of adult/parent figure and child. No romance is explored and Koa does not have a crush on Mills, as she shows that she considers Mills a parent/guardian figure.
For a split second I thought Koa was having one. She is shown sleeping with white foam coming from her mouth, it is revealed to be caused by a bug that has crawled in side.
If you don’t want dead dogs you def also don’t want this movie or at least that scene
