We're led to believe a cat has been killed, but the cat is safe. It shows up safe and sound and a threat is made against the human, not the cat. Maybe I'm forgetting another scene with a cat, but I suspect some people stopped watching when they thought the cat was harmed.

It is on episode 3 about 20 or 25 minutes in. Start watching for him to make her take a pill. After he leaves she runs off to make herself get it back up. If you mute it when she takes off running you will be fine.

I would argue the entire plot of the series (MAJOR SPOILERS)
is homophobic. The major plot twist is that "Adele" is possessed by her gay friend because he wanted to steal her husband. He then kills another woman (the protagonist) that the husband was sleeping with and body snatches her as well to remain with the husband. Not implicitly hate speech, but should be noted that gay people are heavily villainized. Him being gay is integral to his motivations
