Not just your average horror flick. There’s definitely some heart in the story, and dare I say…hope. The brother/sister duo of Finney and Gwen take the story from literal dark dungeons to kicking ass! At the end of the film you get the sense they have untapped potential. There is an element of the supernatural but it is used deftly to compliment the main kidnapping storyline.
Child abduction is a major theme so if that bothers you stay away. Children are also abused, hurt, and bullied. There’s one dead frog and a big black dog but he survives (and gets a yummy treat). There are four jump-scares so become a Supporter to get time codes!
Synopsis
Finney Blake, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.

not sure what the other comment is talking about, as it is most definitely implied, and quite heavily so; the kidnapper plays a game with his victims called “naughty boy,” of which his “favorite part” is briefly discussed (though never explicitly clarified or shown). when playing the “naughty boy” game, he’s also half naked, for some reason. he also watches the main character as he sleeps, says he “won’t do anything [the main character] won’t like” in a suggestive tone, and the sexual component is both confirmed and intended by the director and writers. as a csa victim myself, it’s extremely difficult to miss.

I would say that it sounds like it’s for sexual purposes, but I agree that that doesn’t make him LGBT. Him saying to Finney “I will never make you do anything you don’t like”, the whole “naughty boy game” thing where he sits shirtless and waits to beat them with a belt, him watching over Finney whilst he sleeps and just the fact that he only kidnaps boys are all suspect. “The second part is is favourite part” seems to suggest some kind of sexual assault
