Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna, a working mom with an equally complex past, Syd is pushed to examine whether her unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret. These two women don't agree on much, but they find common ground when it comes to taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles.

There are a couple episodes that revolve around a murder of a transgender woman. Light jokes are made about her gender but the two cops are very understanding and eager to learn and be respectful about her pronouns. The other two are very knowledgeable and set them in their place. Very cute and wholesome in my opinion.

She was very physically abusive. Not a ton is shown as far as physical abuse, but there are several mentions of broken bones and black eyes.
